He recovers though, and later proposes to her. Coincidentally, Xing Kelei is sent to handle the mission, but is stabbed quite badly in an effort to save Mi Ka. When she finally comes back, the bus she is on gets taken hostage. Mi Ka and Xing Kelei are separated for two years. Just as things are going smoothly, Mi Ka suddenly receives a study abroad/offer to visit a renowned hospital. Mi Ka handles both well though, and the two events are really no biggie. However, cdramas are incomplete without annoying tropes, and we get a tumor in Xing Kelei's brain first, then a love rival.
Now they're officially dating, which gives us a lot of fluffy scenes lol. There, the two of them experience a near-death encounter, and Xing Kelei confesses. Later, when an earthquake happens, both Mi Ka and Xing Kelei are sent as part of the rescue team to the disaster site. He even gets Mi Ka's co-worker to trick her into renting his house when he discovers that she is having financial difficulties. After the training program ends, Xing Kelei attempts to find an array of reasons to hang out with her. They initially start off the wrong foot, but they soon begin spending a lot more together Xing Kelei develops feelings.
Of course, she runs into Xing Kelei, now her instructor's "boss," there. Fast forward to the present, where Mi Ka, a med-school-grad-turned-doctor, has to participate in an emergency disaster training program held by the SWAT team. Mi Ka falls very hard for Xing Kelei, and he kind of does too, though not *as* much. Two years ago, a hot, thin-waisted-but-muscular SWAT officer (our ML, Xing Kelei) dramatically rescues a damsel in distress (our FL, Mi Ka) during a jewelry store robbery.

Plot summary for people who like spoilers/have already watched it (feel free to correct any inaccuracies I have the memory of a goldfish and can't quite remember everything lol): They were extremely adorable as a on-screen couple.Since You are My Hero finished airing a couple of days ago and was quite fun to watch, I thought I might as well write up a recap and give it my two cents :) Of course, my personal favorite couple from the show will be lead roles Mi Ka and Xing Ke Lei. Each couple had their own representation of what it is like to fall in love/being in a relationship, which kept the drama interesting. ROMANCE: This drama definitely had a fair share of romance, as apart from the main leads, there were also two other couples that developed throughout the drama. For most of the supporting characters, their roles in the show were also well defined and it doesn’t feel as though much water injection was included (apart from 2 of the roles introduced in one of their mini arcs). The male and female leads story arcs were well thought of and well paced which doesn’t resulted in the drama being too rushed/draggy. PLOT: The drama started off with intensity, and within the first 10 minutes, I was drawn in.

Despite the similarity, both dramas have different approaches on how to present the drama to viewers. However, as I had watched both dramas, what I can say is that the resemblance found between two dramas are the jobs of the leading characters and some of the story arcs. NOTE: For those who are fans of Korean dramas as well, one may be skeptical towards this drama as the summary/description appears to be similar to.
